apres Big show

Its all over and it was a great week. We had so much fun doing the show, although it was quite stressful. The point is that I cant just relax and perform. I have to look at every aspect.....lighting, sound, running order, timings etc. So its Friday before I can just sit back and have fun. In saying that I wouldn't have it any other way. Everyone was brilliant on the show. Kev Orkian totally smashed it and the crowds loved him. Jo Caulfield was perfect. There was a lovely moment when I was changing on the opening night, listening to her on the speaker. Then the great moment when I shouted to Andy and Grant from my room.....'Did Jo just say Fuck'....Yes.....and did she just say it again.....yes.....Oh.
I never mentioned to her that we don't say fuck on the Variety show. As it happens it was beautifully executed and wasn't offensive. So I didn't say anything. It was very funny as well.
Saxation added the glamour and originality to the show. And of course the boys were brilliant. Our legs in the 'so supermarket' sketch went down a storm.
All in all a very successful week and amazing business. Basically full every night (excluding the Gods that is)
I'm going to leave it next year as we are doing the new play Canned Laughter next spring. So its a couple of weeks at home then into the cruising season.
Ok speak soon.

And we're open....

HI all,
Well we are open and its gone really well. The opening night was stressful but very enjoyable. The hardest part is putting a major show on in two days. But as always we are such a great team up here it all came together. I did make quite a lot of changes for the next show though. Andy and Grant were on form and we had great laugh on stage. The Macrobert Bros went really well and the Mac's doing a re-written version of Bohemian Rhapsody went down a storm. The rest of the cast are amazing. I heard so much about Kev Orkian and he certainly lived up to his reputation. Brilliant. Saxation were lovely and Jo Caulfield brought a great modern comedy edge to the show. I did new material for my act and it was a bit scary. So a bit of editing took place between show one and two. But we are off and  running and loving. I only wish it was running longer. It is a massive amount of work for 6 shows.
I"m thinking of maybe doing the show later in the year (2016) I cant do it at the same time next year as we are doing a new play 'Canned Laughter' in the spring (2016) and then touring the play. Its the three amigos again and Ed Curtis is writing and directing it.
Ok I'm going to be vigilant in writing this blog now.....aye!!!!!!!

Bye.

Rebuked again

Gavin 'the cool' Docherty, shobiz corespondent for the Daily Express has rebuked me for not updating my blog. I thought I was doing well. Maybe if I just kept writing rubbish more people would have a look.
Ok lets do that.
Its day 1 in the big brother hoose, and I'm just about there with the Big show. A lovely young guy, Jake Hine is going to company manage the show. He works for Qdos in the the London office and is very together. That's what I need.
I just received a photo of Andy in a wedding dress...... Maybe he's marrying Grant. You'll have to come to the show to find out.
I tried out one of the new routines I'm doing, last week on the ship. It was quite good. Needs a bit of work. I've had to write a whole new 25 minute act for the end of the show. So it hasn't been easy.
Kate is off to LA at the weekend, that was why she couldn't do my show this year. David is coming up with Jane on the Saturday. Then he is off to Atlanta to record. Friday is a big night as well. Lots of friends in.
I was in Barcelona and Paris last week. Jane was with Robbie Williams on his Euro tour, so I went to meet her. Saw Robbie in Paris. The show was fantastic. He is an amazing performer. Loved it.
Just working out my dates for 2016 after the play 'Canned Laughter' Looks like a busy year again. I'm so lucky to be able to work as much as I want to......at my age.
Ok I'll write more rubbish soon.....ok Gavin.
